Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide hands-on assistance to patients with therapeutic activities, exercises, and daily living tasks to promote strength, mobility, and independence.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and report observations to the treating Occupational Therapist.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies to facilitate long-term recovery and independent living.
- Adhere to ethical and legal guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and ensure patient safety at all times.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Active certification and licensure as a COTA in the applicable state.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and patients.
- A caring and empathetic approach to patient care with a focus on promoting independence and quality of life.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate documentation, and follow ethical and legal guidelines.
- Familiarity with therapeutic equipment and techniques, including assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic exercises.
