Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Outpatient Clinic| White Plains, New York

Position: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)
Compensation: $60,000 to $70,000 + benefits

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA will assist in implementing treatment plans to enhance patients’ functional abilities and independence in daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist, focusing on improving strength, coordination, and daily living skills.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, functional tasks, and activities to enhance mobility and independence.
  • Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive devices as part of therapy interventions.
  • Monitor and document patients’ progress, reporting any changes to the OT.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and self-care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in patient records.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Active and valid COTA license in New York.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an outpatient rehab setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
