Full-time/Part-time Mental Health Therapist Wanted at Watertown Regional Therapy Center in Carson, CA

We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Mental Health Counselor/Therapist to join our team. As a Mental Health Counselor/Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing professional therapy and counseling services to individuals dealing with mental health conditions. This position involves working collaboratively with clients to identify goals, develop treatment plans, and implement therapeutic strategies. Successful candidates should possess exceptional communication skills, empathy, and a strong background in mental health counseling.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological well-being.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs, diagnosis, and goals.
  • Provide therapeutic counseling and support to individuals, couples, families, and groups using evidence-based practices.
  • Establish rapport and build strong therapeutic relationships with clients in a non-judgmental and empathetic manner.
  • Utilize various therapeutic techniques and interventions to address clients' mental health concerns and promote positive change.
  • Guide clients through the process of identifying, understanding, and modifying harmful behaviors and thought patterns.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to coordinate client care effectively.
  • Collect and maintain accurate records of clients' progress, treatment plans, and assessments, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay updated on best practices and new treatment modalities.
  • Stay informed about changes and advancements in the field of mental health counseling and incorporate new knowledge into practice.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state license or certification as a Mental Health Counselor/Therapist.
  • Proven experience providing therapy and counseling services to individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of various therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to establish trust and rapport with diverse populations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records systems.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying work hours and meet the needs of clients.
