Join Our Team as an Occupational Therapist (OT) – Skilled Nursing Facility

Location: New York , New York | Employment Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Outpatient (Monday–Friday, 9 AM- 5 PM)

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 per year + benefits

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our skilled team at a leading Skilled Nursing Facility in New York, where we focus on improving patient outcomes and fostering independence through personalized care.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in helping our residents enhance their ability to perform daily activities and regain independence. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will provide therapeutic interventions that are designed to maximize functional ability, improve quality of life, and support residents in achieving their personal goals.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
  • Implement and modify therapeutic interventions to improve residents' ability to perform daily activities, such as dressing, eating, and bathing.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create holistic care plans.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance independence and safety at home and in the community.
  • Track and document patient progress in accordance with facility protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and training to occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) as needed.
  • Foster a compassionate and supportive environment that prioritizes patient dignity and well-being.

Candidate Profile:

  • Current NYS licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) (required).
  • Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Master’s level).
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to think critically while adapting to each patient's unique needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • A deep passion for geriatrics and improving the quality of life for older adults.
