Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducting consultations for pre/post-operative exams, ensuring comprehensive care throughout the patient's journey.
  • Providing visual examinations, accurately identifying the presence of pathology, and offering treatment within the scope of optometric licensure, including prescribing spectacles.
  • Skillfully coding and billing for examinations, adhering to industry guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Functioning seamlessly in a research environment, offering expertise to patients enrolled in clinical study protocols.
  • Demonstrating adaptability and efficiency in learning new routines, consistently following established procedures, and proactively identifying ways to improve routine tasks.
  • Collaborating effectively with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to co-manage patient care and make referrals to specialists when necessary.
  • Expertly fitting and adjusting eyeglasses and contact lenses to ensure optimal vision correction and patient comfort.
  • Maintaining meticulous and accurate patient records, thoroughly documenting examinations, diagnoses, treatments, and recommendations.
  • Upholding the highest ethical and professional standards, adhering to industry regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry program, showcasing your advanced education and specialized knowledge.
  • An active and valid license to practice optometry, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations.
  • Board certification or eligibility for board certification in optometry, demonstrating your commitment to professional excellence.
  • Profound knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and eye diseases, underpinning your diagnostic prowess.
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye exams and interpreting diagnostic tests, showcasing your clinical acumen and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional clinical and diagnostic skills, coupled with effective communication and interpersonal abilities, fostering strong patient rapport and seamless teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.
