Job Title: Full-Time Pharmacist – Hospital-Based Clinical Pharmacy (California)
Location: Los Angeles, California
Job Type: Full Time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM
Compensation: $120,000.00 - $150,000 per year + benefits
We’re growing our pharmacy team and seeking a full-time clinical or staff pharmacist to join our inpatient or acute care pharmacy services.
You’ll work in a collaborative, patient-focused environment alongside physicians, nurses, and specialists to ensure optimal medication use across a variety of hospital units—from emergency and ICU to med-surg and oncology. This is your chance to practice at the top of your license in a system that respects the pharmacist’s critical role in clinical decision-making and patient safety.
Core Responsibilities:
- Review and verify physician medication orders for appropriateness, safety, and efficacy
- Compound, prepare, and dispense medications per hospital protocols and legal requirements
- Provide real-time clinical consultation to physicians, nurses, and care teams
- Monitor patient therapy for drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and adverse effects
- Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and therapeutic substitution programs
- Ensure regulatory compliance (USP, Joint Commission, Board of Pharmacy standards)
- Educate patients on medication use upon discharge (when applicable)
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff in safe medication practices
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited school
- Active California Pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain before starting
- Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacotherapy and medication safety standards
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills
- Completion of PGY1 (and PGY2 for clinical/lead roles) residency
- Hospital or health system pharmacy experience
- Certification in sterile compounding, pharmacotherapy, or BCPS (a plus)
- Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis or similar EHR and dispensing systems
