Physician Assistant for Full-Time Position needed at Universal City Medical in Plano, TX.

Join our team of Physician Assistant for a General Surgery partnership role. This role will partner with one of our general surgeons, in the global management of patients of all ages in the clinic, pre-op, intra-operative, and post-operative care settings.

Physician Assistant will help aid in the efficiency of patient care in our general surgery practice; daily rounding, writing orders, facilitation of hospital admissions and discharges, providing pre/post-operative instructions and education, assisting in the OR and performing minor procedures, ED/CCU consults, and clinic care post-operatively. The ideal candidate will have an eagerness to learn practice flow, and ensure great care to our patients. Experience in surgery/hospital medicine in addition to OR/first Assist (laparoscopy & robotic) experience, is appreciated but not required.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm - Full Time Schedule

Responsibilities:

  • The physician assistant (PA), under the direction of a supervising physician, will function as an independent healthcare provider working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care in a variety of settings (primary, acute, specialty) while demonstrating a high degree of clinical expertise.

  • Provides direct individualized patient care and treatment with responsibility for assessing, examining, diagnosing, and analyzing the patient's current health condition and developing short and long-term goals and treatment plans.

  • Functions within the defined scope of clinical practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, certification, regulations, institutional policy, and practice agreements.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Advanced math skills; ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and/or present complex data.

  • Detail-oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

  • Exercises tact, discretion, and sensitivity and maintains confidentiality

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies

  • Board certification as Physician Assistant

  • State Licensed Physician Assistant

  • DEA License

  • American Heart Association BLS

  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) within 12 months of hire

  • Minimum of two (2)years of advanced practice experience in surgery/hospital medicine in addition to OR/first assist (laparoscopy & robotic) experience

Salary:

$140,000-$180,000 per year (based on experience) + Full Benefits
