Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our behavioral health organization in Washington, DC. The LPC will provide high-quality mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions for a diverse clientele.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the mental health needs of clients. Diagnose mental health conditions using appropriate diagnostic tools and criteria.
  • Individual and Group Therapy: Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy sessions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to clients' needs and goals.
  • Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support and intervention during mental health crises. Develop safety plans and coordinate with emergency services as necessary.
  • Case Management: Collaborate with clients to develop and follow through on treatment goals. Provide case management services, including referrals to community resources and coordination with other healthcare providers.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Education and Advocacy: Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and available treatments. Advocate for clients' needs within the organization and the broader community.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Current and valid LPC license in Washington, DC.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
