Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures such as abdominal, vascular, and obstetrical ultrasounds with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ensure patients are prepared for the procedure by explaining the process, providing emotional support, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Monitor and maintain imaging equipment, making necessary adjustments to ensure high-quality images are produced.
  • Analyze images and interpret findings to determine if additional imaging or testing is required and to identify any abnormalities that require further evaluation.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and medical staff to ensure prompt and accurate diagnoses and treatments.
  • Maintain accurate patient records while adhering to strict HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient privacy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and equipment to provide the highest level of patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology and/or an approved program in Ultrasound, with demonstrated proficiency in operating Ultrasound equipment and plethysmography equipment.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
  • A valid certification and registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • State licensure to practice as an Ultrasound Technologist, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Physical ability to lift and assist patients of varying weights, manipulate equipment, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Excellent finger dexterity for equipment and/or PC operation, and wrist and hand/wrist repetitions for equipment handling.
  • Knowledge of and competency in all OSHA requirements for the position, including the use of personal protective barrier equipment, safety procedures, and handling hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with and competence in MSDS for all items utilized in their particular area, and the location of their department's MSDS manual and/or MSDS hotline phone number.
  • Understanding of and competency in blood-borne pathogen exposures and procedures, as routine duties may expose employees to potentially infectious materials.
