Job Duties:
As a Medical Office Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes accurately and efficiently.
Preparing and reviewing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Overseeing the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring adherence to financial goals.
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with applicable regulations.
Collaborating with department heads to analyze and interpret financial data, providing insightful recommendations to optimize financial performance.
Conducting periodic audits to identify and rectify discrepancies or inefficiencies.
Assisting in the preparation of annual tax filings and working closely with external auditors.
Supporting the finance team in month-end and year-end close processes.
Keeping up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
Job Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA and Medicare billing, is a plus.
