Position Overview:

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility in New York, where we prioritize patient-centered care and rehabilitation to empower our residents to live as independently and comfortably as possible.

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will assist our licensed Occupational Therapists in implementing customized treatment plans to help residents achieve their goals and enhance their independence. You’ll work directly with patients to provide hands-on therapeutic interventions, track progress, and ensure that our residents receive the highest level of care.

Salary: $60,000-$75,000 per year + benefits

Work Hours: Monday - Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the execution of individualized occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving daily living skills such as dressing, grooming, eating, and bathing.
• Monitor patient progress, modify treatments as needed, and report outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance independence and safety at home.
• Record and document patient progress in compliance with state and facility regulations.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care and contribute to treatment planning.

Requirements:

• Current NYS licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) (required).
• Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
