Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Outpatient Setting
Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000 per year
Location: Westport, Connecticut
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
We are seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic outpatient rehabilitation team. In this role, you will assist in implementing patient treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, providing hands-on care to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner.
- Exercise Instruction: Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises and therapeutic activities.
- Patient Monitoring: Monitor patient progress and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Documentation: Complete, accurate, and timely documentation of patient treatments, progress, and outcomes.
- Equipment Management: Maintain and organize treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families about home exercise programs and self-care strategies.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution; Associate's degree required.
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant licensure in the state of Connecticut.
- Previous experience in an outpatient setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
