Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic

Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 per year

Location: Seattle , Washington

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our exceptional team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists (OT) to assist in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from orthopedic conditions. You will play a vital role in helping patients regain functional independence, improve their strength and mobility, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement therapeutic interventions designed by the Occupational Therapist, including functional activities, strength training, range of motion exercises, and the use of adaptive devices.
  • Educate patients on how to use adaptive equipment, implement home exercise programs, and perform daily activities more effectively and safely.
  • Observe and report patient progress during treatment sessions, tracking any changes in condition or response to therapy. Provide this information to the supervising OT to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Work closely with OTs, physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated, holistic approach to patient care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient progress, treatment sessions, and any adjustments to care plans, ensuring compliance with clinic policies and insurance requirements.
  • Help patients implement home exercise programs by providing guidance, instruction, and support to promote recovery outside of the clinic setting.
  • Ensure therapy rooms and equipment are organized, clean, and safe for patients. Set up and break down equipment before and after sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Washington State.
  • CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Previous experience in an outpatient orthopedic or rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, clinical reasoning, and time-management skills
