Full-time Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Needed at Motion Mastery Community College in Alexandria, VA
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant - COTA to join our team on a PRN basis.
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is a qualified professional who, under the supervision of the Director of Nurses and licensed Occupational Therapist, provides therapy services to clients in their homes under the Plan of Care established by the Occupational Therapist.
Any direct patient care provided will be performed as defined by the state Occupational Therapy Practice Act.

Job Responsibilities:
- Patient visits are usually performed in private homes.
- The expected caseload would be mostly geriatric and post-surgical adults.
- Provide evaluations and 1-on-1 treatment with patients impacted by a variety of conditions and impairments.
- You'll work with the patient and their family as well as other members of their health care team to carry out the therapy plan.
- Provide therapy guidance, support, and education during patient visits.
- You'll report pertinent observations and reactions regarding changes in patient status in medical records and to team members where appropriate supervision of assistants may be needed.
- You'll meet with team members, medical staff and families for patient care conferences and comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Communicate with Physicians, the home health agency and other disciplines involved in the patients’ care.
- Complete documentation through EMRs in a timely manner.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant - COTA (desired)
- Open to entry-level or candidates with no prior home health experience
- Current/active Occupational Therapy Assistant License
- BLS Certification
- General knowledge and understanding of clinical verbiage
- Strong attention to detail for use in chart documentation
- Excellent time management/calendaring skills and ability to deliver documentation timely
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Salary:
$50,000 - $60,000 per year
