Full-time/part-time Dental Assistant Wanted at Open Source Dental Clinic in Erie, PA

Join our esteemed dental practice, Open Source Dental, known for its commitment to providing exceptional oral healthcare services to our patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dentists, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering outstanding patient care.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Occasional Saturdays may be required for special events or emergencies

You will work in our modern and well-equipped dental office, catering to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Our practice offers a comprehensive range of dental services, including general dentistry, cosmetic procedures, orthodontics, and more. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative and highly skilled team of dentists, hygienists, and support staff, ensuring exceptional patient experiences and optimal oral health outcomes.

Salary:
$40,000 to $60,000 per year + bonus

Responsibilities:
Assisting dentists during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Preparing treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting surfaces.
Greeting and preparing patients for dental examinations and treatments.
Taking and developing dental X-rays as directed by dentists.
Assisting with dental procedures, including fillings, extractions, and root canals.
Scheduling patient appointments and managing patient records.
Providing oral hygiene instructions and post-treatment care to patients.
Ordering and maintaining dental supplies and equipment inventory.
Educating patients on proper dental hygiene practices.
Performing basic laboratory tasks, such as pouring and trimming models.
Assisting with front office tasks, including billing and insurance processing.

Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED); completion of a dental assistant training program is preferred.
X-ray certification and CPR certification.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and dental team members.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
Knowledge of infection control protocols and procedures.
