Full-time/Part-time Dental Assistant Wanted

You'll be an important member of the clinical team, working alongside GPs and other Specialty Clinicians dedicated to serving patients. You'll be supporting many sides of the practice, greeting and guiding patients, and helping out across the office as needed.
Responsibilities:

- Preparing patients and treatment rooms for dental procedures
- Helping to educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies
- Improving oral health, solving dental challenges and bettering smiles every day
- Preparing patients and treatment rooms for dental procedures

- Answering phones and scheduling appointments
- Updating and maintaining patient dental records
- Overseeing patient check-in procedures
- Coding and preparing insurance forms
- Scheduling referral and testing appointments
- General office administration
- Showing patients to their exam rooms
- Preparing patients for procedures and/or surgeries
- Assisting with procedures such as fillings, crowns, and extractions
- Making dental impressions
- Sterilizing dental tools and equipment
- Post-procedure clean-up
- Generally chairside assisting of dentists and hygienists
Qualifications:
- Must have current Dental Assistant registration with the State Board of Dental Examiners.
- Must have a current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); completion of a dental assistant training program is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and dental team members.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and procedures.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, hospital staff and the general public.
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of dental assisting techniques and equipment.
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of oral surgery instruments and reconstructive surgery on patients.
- Must be able to maintain records of all necessary data. - Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in meeting age related and handicapped patients' needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate skill in taking radiographs, blood pressure, D-sticks, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and in recognizing the names of instruments and the order in which they are used.
Salary:
$50,000 to $75,000 per year + bonus
