Job Title: Dental Assistant – Hospital-Based Dental Clinic (Georgia)
Location: Atlanta , Georgia
Job Type: Full Time
Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM
Compensation: $50,000.00 - $70,000 per year + benefits
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team and contribute to an excellent patient experience.
The Dental Assistant will play a key role in supporting dentists during procedures, preparing treatment areas, managing dental instruments, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about oral healthcare.
Job Duties:
- Assist dentists chairside during examinations and dental procedures (e.g., fillings, crowns, extractions, cleanings).
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly sterilized and arranged.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed.
- Maintain patient records and chart accurate dental treatment information using EHR or dental software.
- Provide post-operative instructions and ensure patients understand care plans and follow-up steps.
- Manage infection control by following proper sterilization techniques and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Dental Assistant training program preferred.
- 1–2 years of dental assisting experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant in a clinical setting is highly preferred but not required.
- BLS/CPR certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and terminology.
- Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, empathetic, and patient-centered demeanor.
