Hospital Front Desk Assistant Needed in Babylon, New York

We are currently seeking a reliable and friendly Front Desk Assistant to join our team and be the welcoming face of our facility.

As a Hospital Front Desk Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors. Your role is vital in ensuring a warm, organized, and efficient environment. From greeting guests to managing appointments and directing inquiries, you’ll be a key player in the hospital's daily operations.

Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 per year

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Hours: Monday - Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly welcome patients and visitors upon arrival
  • Answer and route incoming calls promptly and professionally
  • Check patients in and out for appointments
  • Collect and verify patient information and insurance details
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
  • Provide directions and information about hospital services and departments
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
  • Assist with clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and handling patient forms
  • Follow HIPAA and hospital privacy/security regulations at all times

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or administrative setting preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficient with basic computer systems and scheduling software
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) is a plus
