Salary:

$150,000 to $200,000 per year

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position, working approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Typical office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to medical offices on a wide range of healthcare-related matters, including compliance with healthcare laws and regulations, risk management, contracts, privacy and security, licensing, and reimbursement.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to medical offices.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal documents to protect the interests of medical offices and mitigate potential legal risks.
  • Assist medical offices in developing and implementing effective compliance programs and policies, including HIPAA compliance and protection of patient privacy.
  • Advise and represent medical offices in legal disputes, investigations, and administrative proceedings, providing strategic advice and effective representation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, administrators, regulatory agencies, and insurance companies, to navigate legal complexities and achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging legal trends and changes in healthcare regulations, proactively advising medical offices on potential impacts and recommended actions.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for medical office staff to enhance their understanding of legal requirements and foster a culture of compliance.
  • Provide legal support and guidance in matters related to healthcare transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures involving medical offices.
  • Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation, ensuring confidentiality and adhering to professional ethics and attorney-client privilege.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar and in good standing with the state bar association.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing healthcare law, with a focus on providing legal counsel to medical offices or healthcare organizations.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and fraud and abuse laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply legal principles to complex healthcare scenarios.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills, with a proven track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
