Salary :

$43,000 to $54,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate each client’s physical condition, stress level, and medical history to determine the most effective types of massage for their course of treatment
• Use therapeutic massage techniques to deliver a safe and exceptional customer experience that meets their needs and desired results
• Offer general wellness maintenance advice to clients such as stretching and strengthening techniques
• Maintain treatment records, monitor client progress, and follow up on their treatment plans • Support a positive working environment for both clients and staff through relationship-building and team development Qualifications:
• Must be licensed to practice massage therapy in Washington State
• Proficiency in therapeutic massage techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, and reflexology

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of an accredited massage therapy program, which typically includes coursework in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, massage techniques, and ethics.
• Possession of a valid state license to practice massage therapy.
• Obtaining national certification, such as from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB)
• Proficiency in various massage techniques, such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.
• Effective communication skills to understand clients' needs and preferences, provide clear instructions, and address any concerns.
• Good physical stamina and strength to perform massage sessions, as well as proper body mechanics to prevent strain and injury.
• A compassionate and empathetic attitude towards clients, creating a safe and comfortable environment for them.
• Ability to adapt massage techniques and pressure based on client preferences, health conditions, and specific needs.
• Adherence to a strong code of ethics, maintaining client confidentiality, and displaying professionalism in all interactions.
• Knowledge of health and safety protocols, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices to ensure a clean and safe environment for clients.
• Ability to conduct client assessments to identify any contraindications or health conditions that might affect the massage treatment.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and organized client records, including session notes, health history, and progress.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development, attending workshops, seminars, and training to expand your skillset and stay updated with industry trends.
• Basic business skills, including marketing, appointment scheduling, and client management, if you are operating as an independent practitioner.
• Familiarity with local and state regulations governing massage therapy practice, including scope of practice, licensing requirements, and any restrictions on advertising.
