Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Hospital Setting (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

Job Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM

Compensation: $120,000.00 - $150,000 per year + benefits

The LPN will work collaboratively with physicians, RNs, and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care in accordance with established protocols and regulations. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, efficient, and eager to make a difference in a fast-paced hospital or clinic environment.

Job Duties:

  • Patient Care: Provide direct patient care by assisting with daily activities, administering prescribed medications, and monitoring vital signs. Help patients with personal hygiene, dressing, and feeding as necessary.
  • Medical Procedures: Assist with medical procedures such as dressing changes, catheter insertion, and the administration of intravenous medications under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
  • Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Monitor patient conditions, including changes in vital signs, and report any significant findings to the healthcare team. Recognize changes in patients' health status and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting care provided and changes in patient status in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Care Plan Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans for patients. Provide feedback on patient progress and adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on managing their condition, understanding treatment plans, and offering support in their recovery process.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare team members to ensure effective communication and the best possible patient outcomes.
  • Infection Control & Safety: Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure the safety and well-being of all patients. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
  • Current, valid LPN license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • CPR certification required (BLS).
  • Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is highly preferred.
  • Experience with patient care and medical procedures is beneficial. New graduates are also welcome to apply.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing practices, and infection control protocols.
  • Excellent assessment skills and the ability to recognize subtle changes in patients’ conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively educate and support patients.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining a compassionate and caring demeanor.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare software.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and empathetic approach to nursing care.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospital setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex, sometimes stressful situations with professionalism and grace.
