We're excited to announce that we’re looking for a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team and provide vital mental health care in a correctional facility. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to conduct assessments, make diagnoses, and offer meaningful treatment for individuals facing mental health challenges. Job Duties:
- Provide individuals, couples, and families with therapy session in person and deal with their life challenges, relationship issues, and mental health concerns
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations
- Educate and involve family members or other loved ones in the treatment process when necessary
- Establish and maintain effective and mutually respectful relationships with professionals and support staff
- Collaborate with other clinicians, community organizations, and support services to ensure comprehensive care
- Intervene as an advocate for patients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
- Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development
- Manage a caseload of clients, maintaining an appropriate number of sessions per week
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
- Valid license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California
- Knowledge of LMFT ethics and scope of practice
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations
- Skill at writing documentation that is timely, meaningful, complete, legible, grammatically correct, concise, and consistent with legal and administrative standards
- Knowledge of ethical guidelines, confidentiality, and HIPAA regulations
