Full-Time Phlebotomist – New York

Position: Phlebotomist

Location: Cooperstown, New York (Diagnostic Center)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $40,000 – $60,000 per year

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and well-trained Phlebotomist to join our diagnostic center in California. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for drawing blood samples, processing specimens, and ensuring patient comfort. You will play a crucial role in accurate laboratory testing and diagnostics, supporting physicians in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for laboratory testing.
  • Properly label, process, and store blood samples for analysis.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety while explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical system (EMR).
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, lab technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Handle specimen transport and storage in compliance with laboratory regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred).
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1 or CPT-2) in California.
  • BLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in a diagnostic center, hospital, or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture, butterfly needles, and capillary sticks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and patient care abilities.
