Full-time Gastroenterologist Needed for Medical Clinic in Sanford Digestive Health Center

Expanding gastroenterology practice in Sanford Digestive Health Center is seeking a physician assistant to join our team! Work alongside a large team of physicians and PAs and receive excellent training and mentorship. Enjoy a stable Monday-Friday schedule and build rapport with your patients as you guide them on their health journey.

You will work in a medical facility equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic technology. Our clinic provides a collaborative and supportive environment, allowing you to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of gastroenterology specialists, nurses, and healthcare professionals. Job Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday no weekends

  • Requirements:
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and diagnostic assessments of patients presenting with gastrointestinal symptoms and conditions.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and advanced procedures such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
  • Provide expert consultation and manage a variety of gastrointestinal disorders, such as inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, gastrointestinal cancers, and functional gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans, including medical management, lifestyle modifications, and procedural interventions, tailored to each patient's specific needs.
  • Collaborate closely with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between different levels of care.
  • Interpret and communicate test results, such as laboratory findings, imaging studies, and pathology reports, to patients and their families, explaining diagnoses and treatment options in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, providing ongoing follow-up care and addressing any complications or concerns that may arise.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in gastroenterology through continuous medical education (CME) activities and participation in relevant conferences and research.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records (EHR) systems, maintaining thorough and organized medical records.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor’s degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
  • Fellowship training in Gastroenterology from an accredited program.
  • Board certification or eligibility for certification in Gastroenterology.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice as a Gastroenterologist.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and advanced procedures (EUS, ERCP).
  • Strong clinical skills in evaluating and managing a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and diseases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Dedication to delivering compassionate patient care, while maintaining a commitment to evidence-based medicine and best practices.
