Full-time Oncologist Needed for Cancer Center in New York City, NY

As an Oncologist, you will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating various types of cancers, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and making a significant impact on the lives of our patients.
Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Some evening and weekend hours may be required for patient consultations or emergencies
Salary:
$300,000 to $500,000 per year.

Our center offers a wide range of comprehensive oncology services, including medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, and supportive care. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of experienced oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nurses, and support staff, fostering a stimulating and collaborative work environment.
Job Duties:

Conducting thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.

Diagnosing and staging cancer through the interpretation of laboratory tests, imaging studies, biopsies, and other diagnostic procedures.

Developing personalized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation therapy, and surgery, based on the specific type and stage of cancer.

Administering chemotherapy and other cancer treatments, monitoring treatment efficacy, and managing treatment-related side effects.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and supportive care providers, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

Participating in tumor board meetings and case discussions to ensure coordinated and multidisciplinary care.

Providing emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.

Participating in clinical trials and research studies to advance knowledge in the field of oncology.

Keeping accurate and up-to-date medical records and documenting patient encounters in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Staying updated with the latest advancements and research in oncology through continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Qualifications:

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.

Completion of a residency program in internal medicine or a related field.

Fellowship training in oncology from an accredited institution.

Board certification or eligibility in oncology from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or equivalent.

Valid medical license to practice oncology in the state.

Proven expertise in diagnosing and managing various types of cancers.

Proficiency in administering chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
