Physician Assistant – Pain Management

Job Overview
As a Physician Assistant in our Pain Management department, you will work alongside specialists to provide exceptional care for individuals dealing with acute and chronic pain. Your responsibilities will include performing assessments, developing treatment plans, assisting with interventional procedures, and coordinating care across multiple offices in Brooklyn and Queens, NY.

Work Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the supervising physician to design personalized pain management plans, incorporating both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
  • Assist with procedures such as joint and trigger point injections, nerve blocks, and other interventional techniques.
  • Order and analyze diagnostic tests (X-rays, MRIs, lab studies) to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Educate patients on pain management options, medication use, and lifestyle adjustments.
  • Continuously monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and coordinate with other healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Ensure medical records are accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with the healthcare team to maximize patient outcomes and improve the patient experience.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement efforts, and ongoing education to stay informed on new pain management developments.
  • Navigate insurance processes to ensure service approvals.

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current New York state licensure and certification as a Physician Assistant
  • DEA certification
  • Preferred experience in pain management or orthopedics
  • Proficient in conducting physical exams, interpreting diagnostic tests, and diagnosing conditions
  • Experience in interventional pain procedures, such as injections and nerve blocks, is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate with colleagues
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
