Physician Assistant – Pain Management

- Job Type: Full-Time
- Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments.
- Work closely with supervising physicians to create tailored pain management plans, utilizing both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches.
- Assist with interventional procedures such as joint and trigger point injections, nerve blocks, and other pain relief techniques.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, MRIs, lab studies) to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Educate patients on pain management strategies, medication usage, and lifestyle modifications to improve their quality of life.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing education to stay current with advancements in pain management.
- Navigate insurance processes to ensure smooth service approvals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current New York state licensure and certification as a Physician Assistant
- DEA certification
- Preferred experience in pain management or orthopedics
- Proficiency in conducting physical exams, interpreting diagnostic tests, and diagnosing conditions
- Experience in interventional pain procedures (such as injections and nerve blocks) is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
