Full-time/Part-time Pediatrician Needed at Little Steps Pediatrics in Durham, NC

SCHEDULE:

  • Part-time or full-time
  • 10-hour shift
  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

DESCRIPTIONS/DETAILS:
  • Outpatient only (no nursery, no delivery)
  • Collaborative practice with 9 mid-level providers and 1 physician
  • 20-30 patients per provider during cold/flu season
  • EMR and telemed capable
  • No obligation for in-hospital rounding or hospital on-call

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducting comprehensive medical examinations of pediatric patients, assessing their health status, and diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, providing medical interventions, and prescribing medications as needed. Offering preventive care, including vaccinations and screenings, to promote the overall health and well-being of pediatric patients.
  • Collaborating closely with other medical professionals, mid-level providers, and specialists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for each patient.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers, providing medical advice, addressing concerns, and answering any questions related to their child's health.
  • Monitoring growth and development milestones, providing counseling on healthy lifestyle habits, and promoting early intervention when necessary.
  • Utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and facilitate virtual consultations when appropriate.
  • Participating in case reviews, medical conferences, and team meetings to discuss complex cases and enhance patient care strategies.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and staying abreast of the latest advancements and best practices in pediatric medicine.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to patient safety, ethical standards, and adherence to all relevant medical guidelines and protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical state license
  • Completion of a Pediatric residency program.
  • Experience in providing outpatient care to pediatric patients is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing pediatric patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with medical team members and families.
  • Strong dedication to providing compassionate and patient-centered care to children and their families.
  • Commitment to staying updated with the latest medical advancements and evidence-based practices in pediatric medicine.
