Full-time and Part-time Pediatrician Needed at Healthy Steps Pediatrics in New Haven, CT
As a Pediatrician in Healthy Steps Pediatrics, you will play a critical role in providing immediate and specialized care to pediatric patients with acute medical needs. Your primary responsibilities will involve evaluating and stabilizing critically ill or injured children in the emergency department.
You will work under pressure, making rapid and accurate diagnoses, initiating appropriate treatments, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals in emergency situations.
Your expertise in pediatric emergency care will be instrumental in saving lives and ensuring the well-being of young patients during times of crisis.
Schedule:
8 am-5 pm M-F, occasional weekends, and evenings
Responsibilities:
- Consult with patients to obtain their medical history and the reason for their visit.
- Perform patient assessments and administer appropriate treatment.
- Recommend additional wellness treatments.
- Create comprehensive wellness plans that focus on each individual’s specific needs.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle with advice on sleep, exercise, and diet.
- Maintain detailed records of patient information.
- Refer to specialists or other professionals as needed.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Pediatrics.
- Valid and unrestricted medical state license.
- 2+ years of experience in pediatric medicine, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in conducting pediatric patient assessments and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Extensive knowledge of various areas of Pediatrics, including but not limited to general pediatrics, neonatology, pediatric cardiology, and pediatric neurology.
- Strong understanding of growth and development milestones for children of different age groups.
- Ability to create customized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, parents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Detail-oriented and organized, ensuring accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the comprehensive care of pediatric patients.
- Dedication to staying updated with the latest advancements in pediatric medicine and evidence-based practices through continuing education and professional development.
