Full Time Pediatrician Needed in Cox Health Care Clinic

Cox Health Care Clinic is a non-profit healthcare organization whose mission is to provide exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers. Must have a strong desire to make a difference in the underserved patient community. Must embrace a team-oriented approach and be comfortable collaborating with Nurse Practitioners and overseeing Physician Assistants.

Responsibilities:

  • Examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages.
  • Performs initial history and physical examinations for outpatients.
  • Provides ongoing outpatient care for assigned patients. Screens outpatients to determine need for further care.
  • Prescribes medications within defined scope of practice.
  • Orders diagnostic studies (e.g.-x-rays, lab tests, ECG).
  • Orders blood specimens for testing and performing other comparable lab procedures.
  • Initiates and expedites requests for consultation and schedules special tests and studies.
  • Provides education and counseling of patients and families in preventive care, medical conditions, and the use of prescribed treatments and drugs.
  • Performs all duties and services in full compliance with Joint Commission, Ryan White and funding source standards.
  • Completes all EMR required fields after each visit including the e-signing of notes.
  • Willingness to float to multiple sites as needed with appropriate notice

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.)
  • Graduate of an accredited residency program in family medicine, internal medicine/pediatrics, or pediatrics
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience as a practicing clinician, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be board certified at hire and will be expected to maintain appropriate board certification, licensure, and membership in professional organizations.

Salary:

$400,000-$600,000 per year.
