As an employee of Psychiatrist MD in Invigorate Physical Therapy, your specialty and focus revolve around providing specialized mental health care to older adults. You'll address a wide range of issues unique to aging, including cognitive decline, emotional well-being, and age-related mental health conditions. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for our senior patients and promoting their overall mental wellness in their golden years.
You will be providing specialized mental health care for older adults. Your role involves addressing various issues related to aging, cognitive health, and emotional well-being. Schedule:
- Full-time, 40-hour workweek. Monday to Friday
- Flexibility may be required to accommodate evening or weekend appointments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHRs) and documentation of client sessions and progress.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of older adults to evaluate their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Provide individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs of elderly patients.
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions commonly experienced by older adults, such as dementia and depression.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for geriatric patients.
- Offer counseling and support to help older adults cope with life transitions, loss, and age-related challenges.
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to manage mental health symptoms effectively.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on mental health issues and coping strategies specific to aging.
- Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in geriatric psychiatry to deliver the best possible care.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychiatry from an accredited institution.
- State licensure as a psychiatrist with an active and unrestricted license.
- Board certification or eligibility.
- Demonstrated experience in providing psychiatric care to geriatric patients, including those with complex medical and cognitive conditions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with elderly patients and their families.
- Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care for the unique needs of older adults.
- Knowledge of age-related changes in mental health, pharmacology, and evidence-based treatments for geriatric patients.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and coordinate care for comprehensive treatment plans.
- Commitment to staying updated with advancements in geriatric psychiatry through continuous professional development and education.
Salary:
- $120,000-160,000 per year based on qualifications, and experience.
