Urgent Care Physician Needed in Auburn, Maine

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Urgent Care Physician to join our vibrant team in one of the most beautiful regions of the country. As an Urgent Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing timely, high-quality care to patients of all ages, diagnosing and treating non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, and ensuring each patient has a positive experience. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, outpatient setting and possess excellent clinical skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a provider who is passionate about patient care, enjoys variety in their practice, and values the work-life balance that our setting offers.
Salary: $280,000-$300,000 per year + benefits
Work Hours: Monday - Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)
Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care: Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of conditions, from common illnesses and injuries to more complex urgent care needs.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform minor procedures, including suturing, wound care, splinting, and abscess drainage, as required.
- Diagnostic Tests: Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging (X-rays, ultrasound), to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on health management, preventive care, lifestyle changes, and medication usage, ensuring they understand their condition and treatment plan.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care, including consulting with specialists as needed.
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Document patient visits in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Emergency Response: Provide emergency care in situations such as asthma attacks, allergic reactions, and fractures, when necessary.
- Team Leadership: Collaborate and mentor clinical support staff, including physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants, to foster a strong team environment.
- Operational Support: Assist with clinic operations, including patient flow, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and positive experience for all patients.
Requirements:
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Maine (or eligibility to obtain).
- Prior experience in an urgent care setting is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
