We’re Hiring: Sonographer | Hospital or Imaging Center | New York, NY

Job Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 9 AM-5 PM

Compensation: $70,000.00 - $80,000 per year + benefits

As a Sonographer, you will perform high-quality ultrasound examinations on patients of all ages in various settings—from emergency rooms to outpatient clinics. Working closely with radiologists, OB/GYNs, and primary care providers, you’ll help detect abnormalities, confirm diagnoses, and provide peace of mind to patients and families.

Job Duties:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts imaging
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions to ensure comfort and cooperation
  • Analyze and record anatomical data, select appropriate images, and forward findings to physicians
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort, and adhere to infection control and HIPAA guidelines
  • Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of ultrasound equipment
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and follow-up
  • Participate in quality control initiatives and continuing education opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS (required)
  • Additional certifications (e.g., RVT, OB/GYN, Abdomen) highly preferred
  • New York State license or eligibility if required by local law
  • 1–3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-first approach
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Experience with EMR and PACS systems
