We are thrilled to be seeking a Mental Health Specialist (Counselor) to join our mission of providing quality mental health treatment and social support to individuals aged 18 or older who may have difficulty maintaining community stability and independence due to mental illness. We value our clients and believe in a person-centered, recovery-based approach to treatment.

We offer a sign-on bonus and both full-time and part-time positions are available.

As a Mental Health Specialist (Counselor), your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical services, developing and implementing person-centered, recovery-based treatment plans
  • Continuously assessing treatment needs
  • Assisting in the development, monitoring, and implementation of individual service plans
  • Working with clients to develop coping, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Educating clients about community services and acting as an advocate in connecting clients to these services

You should possess the following knowledge and skills:

  • Ability to provide various skill-building activities
  • Skills for enhancing caregiver roles
  • Ability to assist clients in developing daily and community living skills
  • Ability to assist clients in developing leisure time interests and activities
  • Knowledge, skills, and ability for symptom monitoring and management
  • Ability to assist clients in developing behavior and anger management skills
  • Ability and skills to maintain client confidentiality
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide closure and aftercare planning
  • Knowledge and understanding of family developmental issues

To be eligible for this position, you should have:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology
  • Current state license by the state board is required:
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Psychologist (PsyD)
  • Ability to practice independently without supervision
  • No disciplinary actions on the license
  • Experience providing direct clinical services
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a sympathetic nature
  • Computer literate
  • Good Wi-Fi connection
