Full-time/Part-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor Needed at Cavalier Mental and Counseling Services in San Jose, CA

Schedule:

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including psychosocial evaluations, diagnostic interviews, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that address their specific needs, goals, and cultural considerations.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), in individual, couple, family, and group settings.
  • Offer crisis intervention services and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients in acute distress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families, empowering them with knowledge and skills to manage their mental health conditions effectively.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
  • Conduct regular outcome assessments to evaluate treatment effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and emerging trends in mental health, incorporating this knowledge into clinical practice.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Qualifications:
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Salary and Benefits:
  • The annual base salary range is $70k to $84k
  • Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things
