Journey Behavioral Counseling Center is hiring a compassionate mental health therapist to join our team. We specialize in providing care to individuals affected by trauma, focusing on PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our outpatient office is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for trauma survivors. Position Overview:
- Full-time/Part-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist
- Location: California
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history and determine suitable treatment approaches.
- Create and execute personalized treatment plans with a focus on trauma recovery and building resilience.
- Administer evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to assist patients in processing trauma, developing coping strategies, and fostering healing.
- Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies.
- Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities emphasizing trauma-informed care.
- Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy.
Qualifications:
- Hold a master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Possess a current and valid license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state.
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience. Thorough knowledge of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment modalities, and resilience-building approaches.
- Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, embodying a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
- Capable of maintaining composure in high-stress situations.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 per year
