Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LPCC, LCSW, LMFT) Position Available
Job Summary: The Mental Health Counselor is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and provides support for the patient’s therapeutic treatment plan. Primary responsibilities include observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan. Must be capable of physically assisting patients, dealing with patient emergencies and able to provide therapeutic support under the direction of nurse. Responsible for accurate and timely documentation.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts supportive individual sessions
- Provides patients with appropriate observation as ordered
- Orients patients and their families to the unit
- Assists patients with personal needs when indicated
- Writes progress notes according to department standard
- Progress notes are competed by the end of the shift.
- Progress notes reflect the patient’s progress towards treatment goals
- Progress notes are legible
- Has knowledge of the treatment goals on assigned patients
- Time Management Skills
- Demonstrates an ability to set priorities and optimally uses work time
- Demonstrates ability to perform work in an accurate and timely manner
- Advocates for services for assigned patients when appropriate
- Crisis Management
- Reports any changes in the patient’s behavior
- Demonstrates knowledge of the warning signs of aggressive behavior as outlined in the secure training
The chosen applicant will play a crucial role in our expanding and dynamic mental health team by offering individuals, couples, and families in our community comprehensive marital and family therapy services. The chosen applicant will be in charge of offering our community's individuals, families, and groups comprehensive mental health services.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensed as an LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, or PsyD in the state.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience providing marriage and family therapy services to diverse populations, including but not limited to adults, children, and families.
- Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment planning using the DSM-5.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and client needs.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
