Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) Needed at Small Joy Support Center located in Tacoma, WA

We are a crisis intervention center seeking Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) experienced in addiction therapy, dedicated to aiding individuals in their journey to overcome substance misuse. Candidates should possess strong clinical skills, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build healing therapeutic connections.

We concentrate on addiction therapy, thorough drug abuse treatment, immediate support, and counseling for people in distress, including trauma intervention, emotional crisis management, and suicide prevention.

Work Schedule:

9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • For people who are experiencing sudden emergencies involving their mental health, do crisis assessments and interventions.
  • Individuals in immediate need of help and counseling should receive it.
  • To protect client safety, work with law enforcement and emergency response personnel.
  • For continuous support, provide follow-up care and recommendations for the best options.
  • To handle difficult situations, employ crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation procedures.
  • Take advantage of learning and development opportunities to improve your crisis counseling abilities.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Accredited Institutions / Universities
  • Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience providing crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
  • Additional training or specialization in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience delivering counseling services to individuals in immediate mental health crises.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with distressed individuals.
  • Culturally sensitive and empathetic approach to support diverse clients in crisis.
  • Capability to conduct rapid assessments and create personalized crisis intervention plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of ethical and legal standards in crisis counseling.

Salary:
