Looking for Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) that specialize in addiction counseling are wanted at our Geriatric Care Clinic. In the hiring process, candidates with superior clinical abilities, empathy, cultural awareness, and a collaborative approach will be given preference.

We specialized in providing counseling and therapy for seniors coping with loss, life transitions, and age-related issues.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.
  • Occasional evenings or weekends might be necessary to accommodate client appointments and practice demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment and treatment planning, as well as consultation, as requested, in the development of pre-crisis and crisis plans, behavioral guidelines, risk assessments, positive behavior plans, medication treatment plans, etc.
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner, meeting regulatory standards.
  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools as indicated by the clinical team.
  • Work collaboratively with teams/ programs to develop and implement positive behavior support plans.
  • Actively participate in all licensing and accreditation processes.
  • Serve as a liaison to relevant service systems, state agencies, and community partners as needed.
  • Create and maintain open and effective lines of communication in an effort to meet contract standards and promote the mission of MHA within the community.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local, state, federal, and private agencies and organizations to promote programs and to identify and secure potential new alliances, partnerships, and funding sources.
  • Pursue activities to enhance personal and professional growth. Attend conferences, and classes, address groups, and represent the agency. Attend/participate in statewide meetings, task forces, committees, etc. relating to the area of expertise.
  • Promote and integrate agency mission, values, philosophy, and principles.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned by the Clinic Director.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Accredited Institutions / Universities
  • Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  • Minimum 4 years of recent experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
  • Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
  • Experience delivering counseling services to elderly individuals with various mental health challenges.
  • Understanding of evidence-based interventions for promoting mental well-being in the elderly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with elderly residents.
  • Empathy and cultural sensitivity to support older adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Capability to conduct thorough assessments and design personalized treatment approaches.
  • Knowledge of ethical and legal standards in geriatric mental health counseling.

Salary:

$70,000-95,000 annually, the potential for salary adjustments as skills and contributions advance.
