We are a multi-specialty provider practice devoted to providing convenient and high-quality services to our community. Our dedication includes a Level III Trauma Center, and our objective is to provide superior treatment that improves the health and well-being of individuals and the communities we are honored to serve.

Job Highlights:

- A great chance for a Mental Health Counselor with a special interest in Obesity and/or Binge Eating.

- Preferably 36 hours per week, but we would consider 32 hours.

- Work hours are restricted to Monday through Friday.

- You will be a vital member of a dynamic work group.

- There are no on-call obligations.

- Making use of EPIC electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities:

- Conduct in-depth examinations of patients' mental health, including emotional, psychological, and behavioral elements of weight management, obesity, and binge eating.

- Use standardized assessment methods to examine patients' mental health issues, assisting in the selection of suitable treatment techniques.

- Provide individual counseling sessions to individuals suffering from obesity and/or binge eating, addressing emotional issues, behavioral habits, and psychological variables influencing their weight control journey.

- Develop personalised treatment programs based on each patient's specific requirements, goals, and preferences.

- Educate patients on the psychological aspects of weight control, such as self-esteem, body image, stress management, and coping skills.

- Work closely with patients to increase their understanding of the emotional causes that lead to overeating or bad eating behaviors.

-Use evidence-based therapeutic methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques to enable patients to make long-term behavioral changes.

-Lead or co-lead weight management group therapy sessions, creating an atmosphere for patients to engage in conversations, share experiences, and learn from one another while getting support and direction.

- Work closely with doctors, nutritionists, physical therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to provide patients with comprehensive treatment that addresses both their physical and emotional health requirements.

- Assess patients' progress toward their mental health and weight management goals on a regular basis, and meticulously document these results.

- Modify treatment plans as needed depending on patient reactions and changing needs to provide optimal care.

- Using EPIC software, keep exact and thorough electronic medical records (EMR), capturing counseling sessions, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant correspondence.

- Stay up to date on the newest research, trends, and best practices in mental health counseling and weight control.

- Actively engage in relevant workshops, conferences, and training opportunities to keep your skills and knowledge up to date.

- Participate in teaching opportunities, sharing your knowledge with colleagues, trainees, or students if you are interested.

- Maintain the highest ethical standards in patient care, while also maintaining confidentiality and professional behavior.

- Actively contribute to a collaborative team environment by collaborating closely with team members and establishing a vibrant and supportive workplace.

- Attend team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and multidisciplinary treatment strategies.

Salary:

$90,000-105,000 per year

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a master's degree in mental health counseling or a related field
  • Must hold an unrestricted LMHC license to practice in the State
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
