There is an opening for a full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) at Ouachita Mental Peer Support Clinic.

We are now looking for Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) with a specialty in addiction counseling. Candidates with great clinical skills, empathy, cultural awareness, and a collaborative approach will be given careful attention during the recruiting process.

Work Schedule:

Regular work week 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct extensive mental health exams on seniors to determine their specific care requirements.

- Offer individual and group therapy to help people deal with the emotional issues that come with aging and life transitions.

- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop complete, customized care plans for elderly residents.

- Educate both staff and family on ways for improving the elderly's emotional well-being and general quality of life.

- Provide grief and loss counseling to residents and their families dealing with end-of-life issues.

- Implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health therapies in order to improve and maintain mental acuity in the elderly.

Requirements:

- Have a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an approved college or university.

- Be in possession of a current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license.

- Have at least four years of recent experience in psychiatric counseling and mental health assistance.

- Having extra training or expertise in psychiatric mental health and aging-related concerns is preferred.

- Demonstrate skill in providing counseling services to older people experiencing a variety of mental health issues.

- Understand evidence-based strategies for supporting mental health in the elderly.

- Demonstrate great communication and interpersonal skills in order to engage successfully with older individuals.

- Demonstrate empathy and cultural awareness when assisting older persons from varied origins.

- Be able to perform detailed assessments and provide tailored treatment plans.

Salary:

$90,000-105,000 Each year, with a bonus
