Job Highlights:

Responsibilities:

- Conduct in-depth evaluations of patients' mental health, including emotional, psychological, and behavioral elements of weight management, obesity, and binge eating.

- Use standardized diagnostic methods to examine patients' mental health difficulties, assisting in the selection of suitable treatment techniques.

- Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to persons struggling with obesity and/or binge eating, addressing emotional problems, behavioral patterns, and psychological variables influencing their weight-loss journey.

- Develop personalised treatment programs based on each patient's specific requirements, goals, and preferences.

- Teach patients about the psychological components of weight loss, such as self-esteem, body image, stress management, and coping skills.

- Work closely with patients to improve their understanding of the emotional causes that contribute to overeating or poor eating patterns.

- Empower patients to achieve long-term behavioral changes by using evidence-based treatment approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices.

- Lead or co-lead weight management group therapy sessions, creating an atmosphere in which patients may engage in conversations, share their experiences, and learn from one another while getting support and direction.

- Work closely with physicians, nutritionists, physical therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to provide holistic treatment that meets patients' physical and emotional needs.

- Evaluate patients' progress toward their mental health and weight management objectives on a regular basis and keep full records of these evaluations.

- Modify treatment plans as needed depending on patient reactions and changing needs to provide optimal care.

- Use EPIC software to keep exact and complete electronic medical records (EMR), including counseling sessions, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant interactions.

- Stay up to date on the most recent research, trends, and best practices in mental health counseling and weight control.

- Actively engage in relevant workshops, conferences, and training opportunities to keep up to date on the most recent skills and information.

- If you are interested in teaching, look for chances to share your knowledge with coworkers, trainees, or students.

- Maintain the highest ethical standards in patient care while protecting confidentiality and professional behavior.

- Create a lively and supportive workplace by actively interacting with team members to foster a collaborative team atmosphere.

- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to assess patient progress and design interdisciplinary treatment plans.

Salary:

$90,000-105,000 per year

Qualifications:

- A master's degree in mental health counseling or a similar subject is required.

- Be in possession of an unrestricted LMHC license to practice in the state.

- Exhibit great writing and oral communication abilities.

- Be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds on occasion.

- As necessary for the task, possess specialized visual abilities such as near vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the capacity to alter focus.
