Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Hospital-Based Opportunity | Illinois

Location: Evanston, Illinois

Job Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM

Compensation: $180,000.00 - $200,000 per year + benefits

As a Nurse Practitioner at Nuvina Health, you will provide advanced clinical care to hospitalized patients in collaboration with attending physicians and healthcare teams. Your role will focus on managing patient care, conducting assessments, ordering tests, performing procedures, and contributing to patient education—all while ensuring the best outcomes for patients in an acute care setting.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including history-taking, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with attending physicians
  • Manage patient care, including diagnosing, ordering tests, interpreting results, and initiating treatment plans
  • Assist in performing procedures (e.g., central line placement, intubation, suturing, wound care)
  • Perform daily rounds, provide updates on patient progress, and adjust care plans as needed
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and recovery strategies
  • Collaborate with nursing, case managers, and specialists for comprehensive patient management
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner certification (NP-C) from an accredited program
  • Current or eligibility for Illinois NP licensure
  • Board certification in the appropriate NP specialty (e.g., Adult-Gerontology, Family, Acute Care, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and provide care autonomously under physician supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Acute care or hospital experience is preferred but not required (new grads are encouraged to apply and will receive mentorship)
