Annual Full Pay Range:

$149,229 - $208,842 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Benefits:
Hourly Equivalent: $71.47 - $100.02
The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable)


Responsibilities:

  • Provide same-day acute care to patients with common health problems, including colds, coughs, sore throats, ear infections, UTIs, superficial lacerations, and simple sprains and strains.
  • Assist in improving access to primary care for patients with chronic or acute needs.
  • Support various duties such as annual wellness exams, post-hospital follow-ups, and participation in population health initiatives as required.
  • Adhere to standardized advanced practice procedure guidelines to ensure consistent and effective care plan execution.
  • Assess and deliver appropriate nursing actions based on professional competence, expertise, and knowledge.
  • Serve as an extension of patient care for UCSD Primary Care.
  • Follow through with patient care plans, maintaining continuity and quality of care.
  • Operate within the scope of advanced practice, ensuring the highest standard of patient care delivery.
  • Assume responsibility for patient populations, addressing their unique needs and conditions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of patient care populations, applying clinical expertise accordingly.
  • Be proficient in the primary location of Vista and have the flexibility to work at other Express Care locations as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-Completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program (FNP).
-California Registered Nurse (RN) license, California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, and Furnishing License Certification.
-Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) board certification.

-BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date. • Current PALS certification, or required to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

-Minimum one (1) year of recent work experience as a licensed NP in an Emergency Department, Urgent Care, Primary Care, or an Express Care type clinic. Due to advanced practice credentialing eligibility, clinical advanced practice experience must be within the last two years gained through school or work experience.

-Ability to perform triage and handle critical and/or urgent situations with accuracy, expediency, and tact.

-Ability to manage your own patient load.
-Must be able to work within a team environment. • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
