Full-time NURSE PRACTITIONER (NPs) needed.

Delivering thorough primary healthcare services to patients of all ages in our outpatient clinic will be your responsibility as a Nurse Practitioner in this position. In order to manage acute and chronic health issues, encourage health maintenance, and deliver patient-centered care, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule: Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
  • Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, and injuries.
  • Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
  • Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
  • Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients’ individual circumstances.
  • Evaluation of an employee’s medical or psychological condition is already in question.
  • Understand Electronic Health Record, utilize it to its fullest capabilities, and have the record complete within policy regulations.
  • Prescribe medication dosage, routes, and frequencies based on patients’ characteristics.
  • Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic test as complete blood counts (CBC’s), electrocardiograms (EKG’s), and radiographs ( x-rays).
  • Analyze and interpret patients’ history, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED)
  • Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the NYSED
