Nurse Practitioner | Pain Management

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pain Management Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive pain management services to patients, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain complete health histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations
  • Prescribe and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments for chronic and acute pain
  • Instruct and counsel patients regarding goals of pain management therapies, compliance with therapeutic regimens, medication side effects
  • Caring for patients with chronic pain
  • Prescribing medications appropriate to treatment plans as well as checking PMP for prescriber safety
  • Consulting with physicians to find the correct treatment plan for each patient
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Proficient in developing and implementing comprehensive pain management plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Active and Valid NYS Nurse Practitioner license
  • At least 2 years experience in this field.
  • In-depth knowledge of pain disorders
  • Ability to evaluate patients with difficult pain disorders
  • Appropriate prescribing of medications for pain problems
  • An ability to use different diagnostic tests to pinpoint the cause of pain
  • Skill with procedures (nerve blocks, spinal injections, pain pumps)
  • Treatment that is in line with a patient’s wishes and belief system
