Full-time/Part-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Needed at Vista Medical Center in Galveston, TX

We are offering an excellent job opportunity for a part-time or full-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our well-established Pediatric office.

Our office specializes in offering comprehensive care to children from birth through young adulthood. With in-depth knowledge and experience in pediatric primary health care, we focus on well-child care, prevention, and management of common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions.

We are looking to fill the position as soon as possible, and we can be flexible with the start date. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, along with productivity bonuses. Our doctors enjoy a healthy work-life balance and manageable workload. There are no requirements for c-section attendance.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday

9 am-5 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Provide care to children from birth through young adulthood with in-depth knowledge and experience in pediatric primary health care including well-child care and prevention/management of common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions.
  • Meets the specialized healthcare needs of individuals from birth through young adulthood, including physical, psychological, and social concerns of children in the areas of health maintenance and promotion, and assessment and management of disease processes.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suture removal, wound care, and managing infection.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care.
  • Assists in medical chart review for patient follow-up and quality assurance.
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth, and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
  • Maintains adequate medical records on all patients, including follow-up referrals, and meets on a regular basis with the physician to go over charting and/or medical care provided.
  • Adheres to health center standards for productivity as defined by the Chief Medical Officer and senior management.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Have an advanced degree in nursing (MSN or DNP), RN and NP licensure
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience.
  • Current License as Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner with the Board of Registered Nursing in the State.
  • Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program of study that conforms to the Board’s educational standards
  • Or current certification by one of the following boards: the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board or National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties, or the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
  • Current AHA BLS certified
  • Current AHA ACLS certified (if submitting privileges for inpatient setting)
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Salary

$126,000 - $150,000 per year
