Contract Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Needed at Pedi Horizons Clinic in Arlington, TX.

Our office specializes in offering comprehensive care to children from birth through young adulthood.

With in-depth knowledge and experience in pediatric primary health care, we focus on well-child care, prevention, and management of common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions

Responsibilities

A pediatric nurse practitioner is responsible for providing medical care to children from birth to age 18. They treat problems such as injuries, illnesses, and diseases. Their typical duties and responsibilities include:

  • Recording a patient's medical history and symptoms
  • Consulting and educating parents on how to care for their child
  • Performing physical exams and observing patients
  • Creating patient care plans or contributing to existing plans
  • Performing and ordering diagnostic tests
  • Diagnosing various health problems
  • Analyzing test results or changes in a patient’s condition
  • Giving patients medicines and treatments and evaluating their response
  • Consulting with doctors and other healthcare professionals

Job Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or equivalent.
  • Active and unrestricted Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license in the state of Connecticut.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is required.
  • Prior experience in a pediatric office or children's hospital setting is preferred.
  • Pediatric Primary Care Expertise.
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in pediatric primary health care.
  • Ability to perform well-child care, preventive services, and management of common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions.
  • Proficiency in recording and analyzing patients' medical history and symptoms.
  • Competency in performing physical exams and observing patients for signs of illnesses or injuries.
  • Experience in diagnosing various pediatric health problems based on clinical assessment and diagnostic test results.
  • Strong communication skills to consult and educate parents on how to care for their children.
  • Ability to explain medical conditions and treatment plans clearly and concisely to parents and caregivers.
  • Capable of collaborating with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
  • Ability to work in an in-person, children's hospital environment, adapting to the needs of pediatric patients and their families.
  • Attention to detail in creating patient care plans and contributing to existing plans.
  • Dedication to providing high-quality medical care to pediatric patients, ensuring their well-being and health improvement.
  • Upholding ethical standards and professional conduct in all interactions with patients, their families, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to work on a contract basis with a standard 5x8 weekly schedule and the potential for overtime as needed.
