We are hiring for a Full Time Family Nurse Practitioner for our Urgent Care Center located in Bloomfield, CT.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a valuable member of our team, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating health conditions while promoting good health practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various urgent care services, such as wound management, treating minor illnesses and injuries as well as some occupational health services; pre-employment and DOT physicals. This is an alternating schedule
Sun 6 hours
Mon 12 hours
Tues off
Wed 6 hours
Thur 12 hours
Fri off
Sat off

Sat 8 hours
and alternating holidays.
Starting salary – $115,000 per year + Full Benefits:
Benefits:
Medical, Dental and Vision insurance – company pays 70%, employee pays 30%

401k with matching contributions after 1 year.
2 Weeks PTO

Qualifications for the Physician Assistant:
• Graduate of an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Experience in an Urgent Care Setting or family medicine.
• Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Connecticut
• Current CT Controlled Substance license a plus
• Current Federal DEA license a plus
• Current DOT medical examiner license a plus
• Spanish speaking a plus but not required
Patient Volume can greatly vary. Some days it may be 19 patients during the shift and some days it may be 40 patients during the shift
You will be the only provider on the shift with an MA and the front desk.
Insurance Mix
70/30 Medicaid/Commercial, Major Med. Some self pay.

Responsibilities for the Family Nurse Practitioner
- Completes health/medical history and performs physical assessment on patients in accordance with the presenting chief complaint and established protocol.
- Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic intervention.
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients in accordance with practice protocol.
- Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures as warranted in accordance with the established protocol.
- Synthesizes data to determine preliminary assessment and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention and health promotion.
- Administers treatments, medical intervention and injections in accordance with established protocols.
- Educates and advises patients or significant others regarding health and illness prevention including referral to community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instructs patients and family regarding their plan of treatment and expected outcomes as well as follow-up appointments as indicated by the patient's condition.
- Ensures documentation is comprehensive and written in the established format of the practice.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Ensures encounter notes are closed 24 hours after the date of service.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
