Responsibilities:
- Provide independent advanced-level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis.
- Manage chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols (e.g., chemotherapy) according to standardized procedures for Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Perform non-invasive or invasive procedures, including surgical procedures.
- Make patient management decisions independently when appropriate, and consult with an attending or other team member when needed.
- Act as an expert resource for healthcare providers, including nurses, residents, and other ancillary staff.
Qualifications:
- Graduation with a Master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses without restrictions.
- Current AHA BLS/CPR Certification.
- DEA certification within 3 months of hire.
- Demonstrated skill in patient care with over two years of recent outpatient NP experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology, including triage and experience in clinical quality improvement and performance improvement processes.
- Judgment skills to effectively meet the needs of patients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role.
- Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers.
- Ability to perform patient procedures.
